Frankie is very nice, thoughtful, and helpful. I would highly recommend staying in or hosting an event at the Lodge. I would wait until the Farm House update is complete before starting there.
Came highly recommended and lived up to reputation in every way. Great view, warm hospitality, cozy room with good linens, excellent and amply breakfast. A beautifully reconstructed barn with hand-finished beams. And just out the door: miles of beautiful hiking/biking trails that lead among old quarries and "grout piles," huge hills of unused granite slabs. We will come back!
While we rented it as a family, it has a great floorplan to accommodate use as a conventional B&B. It is located in a very quaint community but yet is very private. Both my sister and I have vacation rental properties and have traveled considerably. This was one of the nicest properties we have utilized. It was a great property for our family but would also be great for a wedding or great alternative to a conventional hotel for anyone visiting the Barre-Montpelier area or beyond for business or pleasure. Great place for a family reunion as well with other buildings available.
My sister and our families stayed at the Lodge for 2 nights when we were in town for a commital service. Our family rented all the rooms at The Lodge at a very fair rate. The Lodge is quite convenient especially to the Barre-Montpelier area and other surrounding areas. It was easy to find. The Lodge itself was just great. A very nice floorplan for families with large sitting areas and also smaller, private sitting areas. The kitchen was VERY well stocked with utensils, pots, pans, spices, dishes, stemware and so on.
Pierre and his partner are extremely knowledgeable about the area and its history. We took the opportunity to walk the trails and enjoyed talking with them about the area. There is some great granite sculpting going on at a spot on the trail that is definitely worth a look.
I note that one reviewer had an issue with noisy boyscouts. We also were there on a weekend when the boy scouts were using the campground. We could not hear them at all. We understood that there were a lot of scouts there but could see no sign of them. We did take a ride out and saw from the other side of a distant tree line where they were in the campground, but they in no way disrupted our enjoyment of this lovely property.
We are grateful to Pierre for maintaining this property and it is obvious he has taken great care to see that his guests are comfortable in this well appointed B&B. We experienced a wonderful time at The Lodge and would give it our highest recommendation.

The Farm House is outdated but is in the process of being renovated after a recent change in the owners' family. The beds and bedding were very comfortable.
The Lodge is where it's at - a beautiful reconstructed barn with rustic decorations. Many quaint rooms nestled into the barn's architecture with good views.
Appliances are in need of updating, although there is an adequate kitchen in the ground floor of the Lodge that could be used for caterer prep at a large event.
Always a pleasure to visit here. A great place to refresh, be out in Vermont's priceless views, play disc golf and revitalize. We've gone to their RockFire festival every year - highly recommend.
So nice.
